Editorials: 2-5

A set of editorials I completed for my professionalism module. First piece doesn't have an accompanying article, but others do. Spoke to tutors who suggested a couple of tweaks, but have been told I've understood the concepts well and produced a good set of work so that's really nice to hear as I struggled with them to begin with!
Only 2 weeks left of my course. Scary stuff.

I made some t shirt designs as part of a uni project for Topman.
May actually attempt to screen print these!

Nina and Nina Double Page Spread

Nino and Nina double page spread.
I like it, but it’s not enough work?
Mixed feelings about this one.

Heart of Darkness: Illustration Three

"afterwards he arose and went out- and the wilderness without a sound took him into its bosom again."
Final illustration! And only posted it on here like, 3 weeks late...

Heart of Darkness: Illustration Two

"he was useful because he had been instructed; and what he knew was this- that should the water in that transparent thing disappear, the evil spirit inside the boiler would get angry through the greatness of his thirst, and take a terrible vengeance."
Heart of Darkness illustration two!
More metaphors. Angry spirit = white man/imperialism as a whole, etc.
Slightly concerned the heart of gold sends the wrong message- was rather hoping it would signify greed, but not sure it reads that way. The shadow behind is meant to infer a darkness. And a few more fun metaphors. Yay.
Let me know what you think or if you can tell what I was going for? Thanks <3 font="">

Heart of Darkness: Illustration One

"Suddenly she opened her bared arms and threw them up rigid above her head, as though in an uncontrollable desire to touch the sky…"
Final Illustration for one of my Heart of Darkness folio society pieces.
Tried to be a little less literal with this.
